not only with cover artwork but also musical contents this latest full-length from the British death metal institution is closely related to the album released five years earlier, almost as if it were its natural continuation, yet notorious veterans can hardly be accused of self-plagiarism when the result nearly surpasses a predecessor - indeed, ten latest tracks can be regarded as the finest old school release of the year, as heavyweight riffs mesh exceptionally well with impeccably tight rhythm section, Dave Ingram's assured roar lends the music an added sense of defiance, while dynamics alternating between speed and ominous mid-tempo passages never allow the songs to lose momentum for a single moment, retaining their distinctive character while simultaneously demonstrating mature, confident form in which simplicity becomes not weakness, but the primary weapon; German black vinyl edition comes with a pro-printed four page lyric insert
